A Ready Recollection

The Mind Numbing Ponderings Of A Pulpit Preacher

Something Old, Something New; Something Borrowed, Something Blue:

I’m going to try something new.  I’m not sure if this will be productive or not but I will try posting sermon outlines on this sight.  As an outline, it is not a complete manuscript. It only gives enough information to build a complete lesson.  As an outline, it can be adapted to various settings.

I would appreciate any comments, perceptions, tips or feedback you may have. I would also like to know if posting outlines is helpful at all. I would also like to know if any ministers can find such post useful.

Something Old, Something New; Something Borrowed, Something Blue:

TEXT: John 3:29-30

1.  Something Old

Ephesians 4:22
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;

2.  Something New

Colossians 3:9-10

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

3.  Something Borrowed

Galatians 3:27

for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

4.  Something Blue

Blue Blood: A person of nobility or royalty. A member of a royal family.

Ephesians 1:7
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace

1 Peter 2:9
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
